It uses multiple technologies to provide researchers with the tools they need to process data and view data. The ICR has been at the forefront of developing new capabilities for XNAT, in particular, the <a href=\"https:\/\/xnat-repository.icr.ac.uk\/?page_id=152\">ICR-XNAT-OHIF viewer<\/a> (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2379-139X\/8\/1\/40\">Doran et al. <em>Tomography<\/em>&nbsp;8.1 (2022<\/a>). Our most recent innovations on the viewer have been created in partnership with the National Cancer Imaging Translational Accelerator, funded by Cancer Research UK.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, XNAT technology was adopted by the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ncita.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">National Cancer Imaging Translational Accelerator<\/a>, a consortium of nine UK universities specialising in advanced diagnostic imaging, funded by Cancer Research UK. ICR staff manage and play key roles as members of the NCITA Repository Unit. Furthermore, WB-MRI is currently limited to a few expert UK centres due to capacity limitations and technical and educational challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The NCITA Exemplar 3 study (MUK Nine : OPTIMUM Treatment Protocol)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT03188172?term=muk%2Bnine&amp;cntry=GB&amp;draw=2&amp;rank=1\">ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03188172<\/a>&nbsp;has expanded the availability of WB-MRI for multiple myeloma&nbsp;with the support of the NCITA QA\/QC Unit and Image Repository Unit.&nbsp;Data for this study are hosted on the ICR\/RMH Repository in its capacity as the ICR node of the NCITA Repository Unit. Data are stored on the UCL node of the NCITA Repository Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"sjd-indent\">[4] \u00a0\u00a0NCITA Exemplar 7: The FIG trial &#8211; <sup>18<\/sup>F-FDOPA PET imaging in GLIOMA: feasibility study for PET guided brain biopsy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull gutena-pattern has-background-secondary-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-container-core-group-is-layout-560a5abf wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:100px;padding-right:30px;padding-bottom:100px;padding-left:30px\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-primary-color has-text-color\">FEATURED STUDY: NCITA EXEMPLAR 7, THE FIG TRIAL<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 43%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><sup>18<\/sup>F-FDOPA PET imaging in GLIOMA: feasibility study for PET guided brain biopsy <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Project Lead:&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oncology.ox.ac.uk\/team\/geoffrey-higgins\" target=\"_blank\">Prof Geoff Higgins, University of Oxford<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The radiotracer 3,4-dihydroxy-6-[&nbsp;<sup>18<\/sup>F] fluoro-L-phenylalanine (&nbsp;<sup>18<\/sup>F-FDOPA) has been shown to be a promising imaging agent for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging evaluation of brain tumours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NCITA Exemplar 7 FIG study (&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT04870580?term=NCT04870580&amp;draw=2&amp;rank=1\" target=\"_blank\">ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04870580<\/a>)&nbsp;is a multicentre Phase 1 study assessing the feasibility of performing&nbsp;<sup>18<\/sup>F-FDOPA PET guided histopathology using standardised PET imaging protocols. Initially set up at the University of Oxford, and expanded other NCITA host institutions, including the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.&nbsp;<br><br>The FIG study will also include assessment of the feasibility of oxygen-enhanced MRI (OE-MRI) for the detection of tumour hypoxia, in collaboration with The University of Manchester and UCL.&nbsp;<br><br>The ICR\/RM Repository, in its capacity as the ICR node of the NCITA Repository Unit, hosts the data. ReIMAGINE Prostate Cancer Risk (<a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/study\/NCT04060589\">NCT04060589<\/a>) is a multi-centre, prospective, observational, longitudinal cohort study of men referred to secondary care with a suspicion of prostate cancer. The aim of the study is to develop a robust baseline risk stratification system for men at risk of prostate cancer. ReIMAGINE Prostate Cancer Screening (<a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/study\/NCT04063566\">NCT04063566<\/a>) is a single site study to assess the feasibility of prostate cancer screening using an invitation for a prostate MRI scan via GP practices.
